When we first meet King Horik it is halfway through season 1 in Upsalla. King Horik is at that time King of Denmark. He is not the first one who will betray Earl Ragnar. He is seeking an alliance with Ragnar first when he is in continuous war with Jarl Borg. He will betray Ragnar after a while because of power he sees Ragnar is influential and want something different than he does. He start to alliance with Jarl Borg because the only thing he wants to see is Ragnar dead.

When Ragnar Blood Eagled Jarl Borg King Horik disguise him for his action and start to take over control with Siggy she is also seeking for revenge and want to regain power that is why she betray Rollo with King Horik. When Siggy finds out Floki doesn't like the way Ragnar is behaving she will get him more close to King Horik. Due to this alliance King Horik thinks he is safe in Kattegat. After a while he set up a plan with both Floki and Siggy to kill the children of Ragnar. He himself will kill Ragnar. He got killed by Ragnar.

King Horik in the real history was a Danish King first as co ruler. He is the one who actually lived in the time Ragnar raid on Paris. He disapproved it.

One Vikings saga to rule them all

I was doing research for my portrait/review on Earl Haraldson and then I came across the Saint’s Saga of Olaf Haraldson. The longest and most completed one of that time.

I was looking for the answer did Earl Haraldson and Ragnar came across each other in that saga. I couldn’t find it. After a while I read the whole saga I found another thing to write about. The names of the main characters of History Vikings The only two I could find where Athelstan and Bjorn. But the support characters I could all find in the saga.

So if you want to know more about the support characters or three of the next main characters go and find out the saga yourself. I will name them for you. Who is there to find and which season:

Viking Panel and sneak peak season 3

The panel of Vikings did tell us

We are off to Paris, half way one of the main characters will die, there will be raids to other countries and yet again there will be bigger conflicts between characters.

The Paris attacks will continue if there is going to be a season 4 that is announced in the panel. Everyone thought at that moment season 4 was definitely a go, but they didn't hear it right. Everybody on twitter cheered that moment.

Also the rumours started who would be dead during the season. The trailer didn't give that information away. I do have a kind of opinion about this after seeing the trailer. I am not going to rumour about that.

"Bjorn will grow older, bigger and stronger". Alexander Ludwig who plays Bjorn told that.

The teaser trailer looks great and tells us a  lot about the storyline of different characters. It tells us a strategy and what the seer sees for someone it is not clear who or what was asked. it gives you an idea of what it will be in season 3 instead of giving big storylines away.  Go and see the teaser trailer for yourself.

Did we miss something or do we have a totally different opinion then those who are in the jury of the Emmy’s nominations?

I was shocked when I heard the Emmy’s nominations. My beloved Vikings didn’t get any nomination in the category of actors, actress and even not the writing staff. The only nomination we got was in SFX.

Vikings had a lot of categories they were in. and didn’t get what the fans wanted. A nomination in all categories. Travis Fimmel does a lot of acting without words amazing. Katheryn Winnick is stunning throughout the whole series, Clive Standen went from a warrior into a drunken Rollo and then get up again.

The writing team did an amazing job to get the show much better than last year. Still they don’t see the show who is back for a third time next year as an Emmy’s nominee. I didn’t I was all the way convinced that we would be nominated for all the categories we were in.

A strange idea we will raid again and next year we will beat them all. We will raid the Emmy’s nominations and we will win because we are the Vikings.

Final season Vikings season 2

This Sunday was the last episode of Vikings.

I am going to miss it, can’t wait for season 3 to arrive. They started shooting season 3 on the 30th of May after one week of preparation. In the preparation we saw new clothes, horse riding and new jewellery even I saw and heard things There is a new cast member. 

There where Emmy q and a’s with Rollo, Ragnar and Lagertha they made clear that they couldn’t resist it to get spoilers to the audience. Even the writer/creator of Vikings Michael Hirst couldn’t. I will try to get as many spoiler free information about the season. Everyone who wants to know more or want to be spoiled then use Twitter or Facebook and follow the actors and cast.

What I liked about the season 2 is that every main character has its own problem. The fighting scenes are shot from person to person. The way they used silent language between unspoken rules between Floki, Bjorn, Siggi and Ragnar. Ragnar sees almost everything but did he expect to have such a though component in King Eckbert? The mythology woven in every single episode told by each and every one is fantastic to know. The best part of season 2 are the first episode, the double wedding and the last episode.
