https://www.facebook.com/angel.chipits?fref=photo

Hail Vikings,

We feel pleased to  tell that Vikings is on the Dutch channel FOX on Monday evening at 22:00 hour or PM if you like it that way.

Don't you agree that there is a Post Traumatic Vikings Disorder I can say from the bottom of my heart I have this. I cannot wait to see the new series coming on the 19th February.
When it will return in February I  will write a blog every week it is on TV there will be a delay in this because of the rights and when it is on.

I will give my opinion on things and explain where necessary with mythology, what I think will happen next or character explanation. Feel free to give your opinion.

Great news about The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare

http://www.karlasbookblog.com/2013/08/25/the-mortal-instruments-series-by-cassandra-clare/

Today Constantin film came with news after a wait for almost a year about The Mortal Instruments. The series wrote by Cassandra Clare. Would be conducted into TV series. When the news came out the questions came. While we expected to have the second film they announced to go for a TV show. We don’t know yet how the cast would look like or who of film is actually going to play in the TV series. Cassandra told trough Twitter she is excited as us but she don’t know what it is going to look like. She sold her rights of the book to Constatin. She doesn’t know more than we do.

Who is up for a whole season of Gotham

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotham_(TV_series)

Are you all excited as I am. Gotham has a whole season to go on Fox in America and on MTV UK channel 5 in the UK and Ireland.
Gotham had done a pilot to see if the series would take enough viewers to go on for a whole season. and it passed the viewers test.
Fox is excited today to announce that Gotham will be there for at least one season.

1 week till Gotham

We are one week ahead before the Fall TV premiere of Gotham.

From what I saw in trailers and exclusive clips I want this show to come to the Netherlands.
Finally we get to see how Gotham became Gotham and how the main characters develop into the villains and hero's of this time.

Not a film but a good TV serie by  Fox. We will meet both detectives, The Joker, Pinquin, and many more. We see Ben mc Kanzie in the role as detective James Gorden and one of Vikings main cast King Horik season 1 and 2 Donal Logue will play Detective Harvey Bullock.

Vikings potrait 3 Earl Haraldson

Earl Haraldson

http://www.history.com/shows/vikings/cast/season-1

One of the enemies of Ragnar in the first series. Chieftain of Kattegat. He didn’t want to go to the west or had the guts to go west. He believed there was no west. He wanted to kill Ragnar and almost succeeded. His children were killed. Siggy was his wife until his dead. He was the first tier to be killed by Ragnar in an equal battle to death.
In real he was either Godfred Haraldson the son of the king of Denmark or Olaf Haraldson who was a Viking who started to raid at the age of twelve. He is better known for the Saint’s Saga. I think it is Olaf Haraldson because almost every name of the characters of Vikings are in there. http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/heim/08stolaf.htm

Gabriel Byrne

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000321/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

He is an Irish actor and has won a golden globe. Was in the show for 6 episodes. Is busy with film and TV as an actor. Has played in 79 films till now. Did play himself in 53 productions. Did study archaeology and linguistic. He became actor when he was 29. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriel_Byrne http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000321/

Viking Panel and sneak peak season 3

The panel of Vikings did tell us

We are off to Paris, half way one of the main characters will die, there will be raids to other countries and yet again there will be bigger conflicts between characters.

The Paris attacks will continue if there is going to be a season 4 that is announced in the panel. Everyone thought at that moment season 4 was definitely a go, but they didn't hear it right. Everybody on twitter cheered that moment.

Also the rumours started who would be dead during the season. The trailer didn't give that information away. I do have a kind of opinion about this after seeing the trailer. I am not going to rumour about that.
"Bjorn will grow older, bigger and stronger". Alexander Ludwig who plays Bjorn told that.

The teaser trailer looks great and tells us a  lot about the storyline of different characters. It tells us a strategy and what the seer sees for someone it is not clear who or what was asked. it gives you an idea of what it will be in season 3 instead of giving big storylines away.  Go and see the teaser trailer for yourself.

Final season Vikings season 2

This Sunday was the last episode of Vikings.

I am going to miss it, can’t wait for season 3 to arrive. They started shooting season 3 on the 30th of May after one week of preparation. In the preparation we saw new clothes, horse riding and new jewellery even I saw and heard things There is a new cast member.

There where Emmy q and a’s with Rollo, Ragnar and Lagertha they made clear that they couldn’t resist it to get spoilers to the audience. Even the writer/creator of Vikings Michael Hirst couldn’t. I will try to get as many spoiler free information about the season. Everyone who wants to know more or want to be spoiled then use Twitter or Facebook and follow the actors and cast.

What I liked about the season 2 is that every main character has its own problem. The fighting scenes are shot from person to person. The way they used silent language between unspoken rules between Floki, Bjorn, Siggi and Ragnar. Ragnar sees almost everything but did he expect to have such a though component in King Eckbert? The mythology woven in every single episode told by each and every one is fantastic to know. The best part of season 2 are the first episode, the double wedding and the last episode.

If you want to follow the main characters this is their Twitter/Facebook account where I know of.

The Viking-Christian wedding

The creators of the series from Vikings did a remarkable job. They succeed to put a Christian wedding and a Viking wedding together with both rituals. The music they used only makes it better.

What I like about the scene is how they show the differences in marriage. The rituals are different from each other but both are well shown.

There are myths in the Viking marriage. We know the similarities but on different ways. For example Floki carries his Helga to the spot where they are going to marry. The Christians do this after the ceremony. The broom carries his wife to bed.

Another great ritual by the Vikings is the changing sword this is for protection and is a symbol of tradition the broom will always change the sword from his father and will be given to the next son. The bride will have a new sword to give to the broom. Christianity don’t have that we do that with names.

On the ritual changing the rings it is clear they both have the same ritual here but Vikings put the ring on the swords and exchange in the series.

The music that they used suits perfectly in the theme of the marriages. It has a bit of Celtic sound. I know that sounds funny but it is.

Q and A Clive Standen

Tonight there was a Q and A with Clive Standen who plays Rollo in Vikings. He did this because the first season and second episode in the UK was shown there.

I was able to ask him a few questions. He did gave me something to look up and now I know even more about the myth he liked.

Which other character would you like to play?

Clive: “I'm happy with Rollo but I can't wait to see where Michael takes the character of "Ivar the boneless"

Have you ever been in The Netherlands?

Clive: “I have...I did a theatre tour of Mary Shelly's Frankenstein in 2003 to Eindhoven, Utrecht,Gouda,Amsterdam and Rotterdam.loved it”

Which myth do you like most about the Vikings?

Clive: “look up the viking myth of how the phrase "cut your nose off to spite your face" was formed ... #Gruesome

I then took the time to look it up and found out this:

There where nuns and the Vikings came there and in order to protect them from raping by the Vikings they cut of their noses. To find the full story click below on the link.

Q and A Vikings

Q and A Vikings

Yesterday the new season of Vikings aired in the USA and Canada. A lot of cast members where on twitter or Ustream to answer questions from fans. Due to the overload of questions and the amazing amount of cast members who where online to answer them I wasn’t able to catch all of them. An hour after the first episode of Vikings season 2 there was time to ask questions. Clive, Katheryn and George for instant did an hour before the launch on Twitter. After the launch they came back on to twitter to get the reactions of the fans. Where Alexander and Alyssa did Ustream afterwards. The airtime was at 9 in the evening. My time because I live in The Netherlands was 4 in the midnight.
Season 2 will be launched in april in my own country.

Clive Standen (Rollo)
Did you take anything from the set?
“That's for me to know and History to never find out!”
What is your favorite line?
"All things begin and end as stories"
Do you study mythology before? Did you have to learn a lot of new things? (Stunts, tricks, and martial arts)
“Always learning...Norse mythology SO vast it's ongoing. Had a whole day of stunt training today-lucky if I come out of ep1 alive!”

Alyssa Sutherland (Auslaug)
What do you hate about Aslaug?
“Not a thing!”

Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha)
Did you kept any souvenirs from Vikings?
“The offering in season 1 for Uppsalla”
What is your favorite country when you are on set?
         “Ireland. For sure.”

Alexander Ludwig (Björn season 2 episode 3)

What was the challenge in the role played by someone else and your own interpertation of Björn?
“Wow, good question I think Nathan played the role very well.     Because of the time jump I was able to do my own style but always kept in mind what Nathan would do so I could create my own style of playing Björn.”

“Another challenge was that after season one became a hit the expectation where so high for season two. I saw season one on TV and liked it very much. Then coming in the second season is something very difficult.”

Which character would you like most?
“Floki” “Gustaf is playing him very well. He is amazing.”

George Blagden
Would you like to play a different character?
“Floki.”
